Prom Safety
We recognize the concerns regarding the location of this Prom venue. The Denver Asterisk hosts numerous prom events each year and walked us through their safety measures prior to us booking their space. In addition to their safety measures, we are also planning and preparing our event with safety in mind. Below you will see the steps we're taking to make sure the event is safe and secure for all involved!
- Denver Police Presence, as part of our contract with Denver Asterisk, we pay for two Denver Police officers to be present outside the venue for the duration of our event.
- Officer Ritter, in addition to DPS, our School Resource Officer Officer Ritter will be in attendance and will be working with DPS to coordinate safety
- Campus Supervisors, we will have three of our campus supervisors onsite as well. Part of their role will be supporting exterior supervision of students walking the block from the parking lots available.
- Admin & Chaperones, additionally, we expect to have a full team of admin and adult chaperones supporting all areas of the venue to support a safe dance.
- Parking, there are several parking lots surrounding the venue with a city block walking distance. Additionally, there is street parking around the venue. Our supervision teams mentioned above will work to keep an eye on these walking spaces.
- Drop Off, we also recommend dropping students off using the Arapahoe street. It is a one way street on the west side of the building and will make for a quick entry to the venue.
- Check-In Setup, Inside, we have setup the check-in process to be a little further inside the venue in order to keep anyone waiting in line indoors for as long as possible
- 5 Star Students app, in addition to location, we will be using our 5 Star Students system again to ensure a speedy and efficient check-in process. We are working to encourage students to have the 5 Star app open and ready so we can scan and go. Additionally, the 5 Star Students app allows us to check guests in AND out so we will know who has come and gone during the event.
- Wristbands, all guests of our event will be given plastic wristbands while in the venue to better help us keep an eye on guests.
