Applications
The Student Leader Team at Riverdale Ridge High School is a team of students interested in leading the engagement of our learning community. The team functions as a co-curricular course with both in-class work and extracurricular expectations. The team is responsible for school-wide projects like Homecoming, Prom, student-engagement, etc.
Statement of Purpose
The Student Leader Team will communicate with and encourage the Riverdale Ridge community to create memories, inspire engagement, and promote student voice.
Course & Participation Structure
Students who are accepted onto the Student Leader Team are expected to participate in the following ways...
- Student Council class, the Student Council class is NOT a year-round course. Instead, the Student Council course will be a Quarter 1 & 4 course. For the "off quarters" of 2 & 3, you will be expected to attend and participate in team business in an extracurricular capacity.
- Extracurricular Participation, there is a major extracurricular component of being a member of the Student Leader Team. After-school commitments are expected of all members.
- Member in Good Standing, Members in Good Standing is how we manage current membership. Member in Good Standing is outlined below in our constitution...
- Section 2. Good Standing Definition: A Student Leader Team Member in Good Standing is defined as a member who…
- Earns a minimum of 15 points per quarter
- Maintains the 2.75 GPA (assessed at the end of each quarter)
- Ends each semester with a C or better in the coursework
- Demonstrates appropriate classroom and team behavior by following the Code of Conduct process
- Has not been suspended for any reason

Written Statement - All Applicants
In 1-2 pages, respond to the prompt below...
"The Student Leader Team will communicate with and encourage the Riverdale Ridge community to create memories, inspire engagement, and promote student voice." Explain how you would support the team in their pursuit of fulfilling this statement of purpose. Be sure to cover all parts of the statement in your response.

Video Submission - All Applicants
Create a video that introduces you to the team. Share who you are with us by selecting a video format that fits your personality. Try a TED Talk or a Screencastify presentation, or a music video. Your choice! What should we know about you?

Meet the Team - All Applicants
Applicants should plan on attending the Meet the Team event on Monday, February 19th from 10am-12pm. During this event, applicants will work alongside current members on poster creation as an opportunity to show us what you can do!
Interview - Select Applicants
Select applicants will be scheduled for an after-school interview with the Class Sponsor committee once the application window has closed. Students should expect questions on leadership styles, collaboration, inclusion, etc.
- - Upload the required materials to the Google Form Application and complete the questions included. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16th, 4:22pm.
- Once the application period has closed, a committee will take 2-3 weeks to interview students and review all applications.
- After interviews, students will be notified of their selection for the team. APPLICATION PROCESS NOTE - students will not add this course to their course registration. If selected, students will be added to the roster in place of another selected course.
